Lemana's Little Ones is off and (toddler-)running!

This week we were really excited to host the first of our ‘Lemana’s Little Ones’ sessions.  We’re providing a space for people to bring along their children, and enjoy a chat with some coffee/tea and cake while they have a play.  The morning went really well, with a lovely lively ‘buzz’, and we hope that everyone who came along enjoyed spending time with us. We’ll be doing this weekly on Tuesdays from 9-12 going forwards, with a hot drink and cake (plus snack and drink for the children) at the special price of £4.95. We hope you can make it, and don’t forget to bring your friends along too!

At Lemana we really want to play an active part in the local community, and we’re keen to use our fabulous indoor and outdoor space to help with hosting other groups and activities in the café. In February, we’ve the pleasure of hosting the New Forest Writing Co. for their Web Copy Workshop, and if you have ideas for other groups, or want to find out about hosting something in the café, please get in touch.

January has settled into a nice pace, despite the grey skies and the Brexit woes. We’re busy playing with a couple of exciting new ideas that we’ll give an update on soon, and are now collecting our vegetable scraps and coffee waste to build a compost heap. We’re starting the gardening in earnest this year, and while it will take some time to establish, we hope to start growing some herbs and salad items to bring even more flavour and freshness to our food. Handling waste output is a serious concern for any business, and at Lemana we try to ensure we’re not only reducing waste, but also reusing and then recycling as much as possible. Establishing a small gardening effort is a lovely way to bring life and colour to the neighbourhood, grown some produce, and recycle at least half our kitchen and coffee waste! If you ever have a glut of fruit or vegetables, please let us know as I’m sure we can be creative and use in the café!

Anyway, enough rambles for today – onwards and upwards in 2019! xx
